What our students say?
Lessons here not only allow me to catch up or go ahead of school class, but also reaffirm my existing concepts.
Colin Tan – School of Science and Technology
It came true, from an F9 to an A2. I’ve become more confidence of my abilities and strike off my perception that “Math is not my thing”. With hard work, with Ms Ang, comes success!
Shu Chyi – Bukit Panjang Govt High
Ive seen good and tremendous improvements in my child’s progress and achievements in the subject matter after attending your tuition classes. Im very impressed with your guidance and the tuition outcome! I will certainly recommend anyone for your tuition classes! Thank you!!
Parent of Shirlene Wong – Dunearn Secondary (2015)
Ms Jolyn always takes a proactive approach to giving feedback regarding my son’s progress in class. My son has shown tremendous improvement and produced stellar results at O levels! Ms Jolyn made it possible!! Thank you very much for all your guidance!
Parent of Joshuea Gan – ACS(Barker) (2016)
Ms Jolyn is an extremely dedicated teacher who is able to deliver her lessons well. Through weekly quizzes at the start of the lessons, Ms Jolyn has helped us to forge our way through the little “secrets” of mathematics questions and the concepts behind different question types.
Foo Hsien Li – River Valley High
She can pinpoint your mistakes with accuracy and more importantly, the root cause of these mistakes; things that even you are likely unaware of. She teaches you the shortest way to solve any math sum you throw at her.
Timothy Yap – St Patrick’s School
With the help of straightforward notes and detailed explanation to each problem, we are able to build a strong foundation in each topic. Her lessons are always efficient and effective, and have helped me improve from barely passing to an A1 in my O’ Levels!
Alani Kethireddy – Anderson Secondary School
After attending teacher Jolyn’s class, math concepts became easier to understand with her concise notes and patient guidance. She was encouraging and never hesitates to answer my questions outside lessons. With her help, I managed to score As for my maths and I’m thankful that I have attended her lessons!
Chelsea Low – Crescent Girls School
She also makes sure that should I face similar questions in the future, I would be able to solve it on my own. She helped me improved my grades drastically from F9 in Secondary 3 to A1 in “O” levels. For that, I am immensely thankful for her guidance.
Goh Ee Raye – Hua Yi Secondary
I found it very effective and suited to the Integrated Programme as she was willing to not only omit certain parts of the O level syllabus that I did not learn, but also to teach me parts of the IP math syllabus that I did not understand. The mandatory practices I had to complete by the next lesson each week ensured that I got sufficient practice. This helped me get an A for math in my year 4 end of year exams in RGS.

Marking of Weekly homework
Ms Jolyn Ang will personally go through every single step in the student’s homework. She will mark and review their mistakes individually and explain the correct solution for the questions. We don’t spoon feed students. We make them think through the necessary steps and understand them. Through our experience, this is the best way to do mathematics.
Small group tuition
Our A maths tuition classes will only take in a maximum of 8 students. We do not like the idea of mass tuition classes in a group of 10 or 20 students. Our personalized approach gives each and every student the required attention.
Notes that are concise and precise
We take pride in our copyrighted notes. Summarized concepts, exposure to a variety of examination problems. That’s what our notes is all about.
Analysis of past year O Levels marker’s report
We analyse the markers’ report from UCLES and understand the key points for the different question types. We understand what they are looking out for, and pass on these details to our students.
Conduct short tests
From our knowledge of the past year marker’s report, we select appropriate test questions for the students. After attempting the questions within the stipulated time, we review their presentation. Every mistake will be addressed with respect to the O levels marking scheme.
Identification of keywords
This is especially important for weaker students, who have difficulty identifying the key concepts in each question. We teach students to identify keywords and highlight their importance. This identification allows students to cross-link concepts and formulae from different chapters. It speeds up their thinking process, an important skill especially during examination.
Exposure of questions
Questions have been carefully selected to reflect the variety of problems in additional mathematics exams. We have analysed and broken down each chapter into its small parts, and all the different types of questions that can be seen in each part. Students are exposed to these questions and will be able to solve them quickly during exams. This saves precious time for them to solve those `unseen’ type of questions during O levels.
What can you expect from the class?
Classes are 2 hours long.
In the first half of the lesson, Ms Jolyn Ang will be teaching the topic, using her own set of notes. No pre-learning from school is required.
These notes are a culmination of years of efforts, summarizing the key concepts and examination questions, presented in a concise manner.
In the second half of the lesson, students will be provided with worksheets relevant to the teachings of that lesson.
These questions reflect the trend of examination questions in recent years, carefully selected from schools’ examination papers.
Students are expected to complete them before the next lesson.
Ms Ang will be marking their work, carefully writing down the mistakes and clarifying doubts with the students.
Together with Ms Ang’s dedication in marking every single piece of homework, students, in return, are expected to work doubly hard.
