Mr Ang is a very nice and chill teacher. He is really knowledgeable in Maths. His notes are very useful. Although each lesson were short(2h) but it has covered all the important points. He split learning points so we can focus on certain learning points for that lesson. The pace of the lesson is just nice for me. From D7 to A1 in my O levels for Additional Mathematic! Started attending Math Academy after I failed my Sec 3 Midyears and was recommended by a friend who also scored an A1. Ms Ang is clear in her explanations and makes Amath concepts easy to understand and apply. She also provides extra worksheets when needed.

I have been attending Amaths tuition here since Sec 3 MYE. I came in being unclear of most of the topics taught in that semester and misunderstood some of the concepts, hence I got an F9 for that paper. Going to Math Academy was definitely effective in helping me improve on my Amaths. During the teaching of a new chapter, Teacher Jolyn would explain clearly the concept and then apply the concept in a few questions and go through with us step by step on how to solve the problem. The notes given were concise, yet enough to allow us to understand the concept. The practice questions in the worksheets given were challenging and it forced us to think critically. Whenever we had any doubts, Teacher Jolyn would come and help us individually and explain the processes of solving it. She was very patient in answering our many questions. Tutors at Math Academy are able to consolidate math chapters to make it clear and easy for students to digest. They identify a variety of different types of questions for each topic that may be set for an exam and then teaches their students using a step by step approach to tackle these questions.

Mr Ang explains concepts and questions clearly and patiently to his students. He is open to questions during as well as outside of tuition classes and responds promptly.

Mr Ang also arranges make up classes for students who were unable to attend tuition classes. He will provide class materials online for the student to catch up on in order for him to stay at the same pace with others at the next class.

I’ve just finished my A levels curriculum. Every lesson is interesting,enriching and each assignment given is very challenging and very useful in tackling questions given in school. Mr Ian is able to compile a whole chapter into confused and simplified piece of paper and is also able to teach a whole chapter clearly in about 1-3 lessons time which includes examples to further test our understanding. I did not know what it meant to love what you do until I witness Mr Ian Ang's undying energy and zest when he conducts his Mathematics lessons. The teachers at Math Academy are very patient and helpful, so most of the time when I have questions or issues, they would explain how to tackle the question step by step. They would also emphasize on things to take note of, which comes handy during examinations. They would also take the time to check on us when we are doing our work and see if we have any questions while trying to solve the problem. Needless to say, they provide an abundant amount of practices for examinations and give quizzes and tests weekly before the examinations to check that we are prepared for examinations or at least understand the topic well. They also make the learning process much easier and now thanks to them, I've gain back my interest in mathematics and achieved great grades with them.

By the end of my third year, I was getting worried. Being barely able to scrape past both mathematics is definitely not the scores I wanted. Besides, it is every student’s dream for a full set of distinctions. This was when I joined Math Academy.

My first lesson was certainly the most memorable one. Having barely a clue about much topics taught in class, Miss Ang sprang into action. “Differentiation: Power bring down, power minus one, differentiate the base” was a common heard phrase in class. Such teaching methods allowed me to remember crucial mathematical applications and prevent detrimental mind blanks during classwork, assignments and most importantly, exams. Such concepts are so firmly rooted in me that I still hear Miss Ang’s voice in my head each time I do calculus related questions.

However, if you learn conceptually and hate memory work, do not fret! Miss Ang will definitely clarify all your doubts regarding any mathematic topic. Not sure why the gradient of a normal is the negative reciprocal of the gradient of a line? Miss Ang will use a wide variety of methods, from detailed explanation with graphs, to algebraic formulae manipulation. Every student will surely learn in Miss Ang’s active teaching classes.

I love how complex mathematical concepts are simplified here in Math Academy! The lessons were easy to understand, and Mr. Ang will teach us how to break down the questions so that we learn how to strategize to solve different types of mathematical problems. Mr Ang's classes serves as a good recap to the topics taught in school. His lessons are straight to the point and he always makes an effort to clarify any doubts that we may have while walking around to check on us one by one. During the first semester of my secondary three, I have been getting F9s for my amaths so I sought for tuition centers that can help me

I found the math academy online recommended by online reviewers and decided to give it a go. Surprisingly, after my tuition teacher patience and helpful lessons,  my amaths showed a tremendous jump to A1 in my 2nd common test in my secondary three. My amaths from then on have constantly been scoring As and have scored A1 in my O levels. I'm very grateful to my tuition teacher, Ms Jolyn for her patience and passion to teach. I started having tuition lessons at Math Academy since I was in secondary one as I was not very good in math in primary school.

At math academy, I was tutored mainly by Mr Ang. Mr Ang is very clear in his teaching. At the start of a every new topic, he would be patient to go through a variety of questions together with his students. He breaks down the most difficult questions for us and shows us a step by step way of approaching them in future. He would always clear my doubts whenever he sees me struggling with questions.

He is also open for his students to ask him questions during or outside tuition. There was an instance when I was in doubt of a certain topic just weeks before an exam, Mr Ang did not hesitate to print me more notes on the topic when I asked for help.

With the help of Mr Ang, I was able to maintain an A1 or an A2 for E.math in secondary 1 and secondary 2 and also in A.math when I was in secondary 3 and secondary 4. I scored an A2 for A.math at the O' levels. Without Math Academy, I would not be where I am today.

I joined MathAcademy in J2 after the June Holidays. Although it may seem "too late" for most students, don't fret! Ms Jolyn is a teacher who has never hesitate to clear all my doubts during A-math tuition classes. She is a very encouraging teacher who believes in her students. Her tactic in teaching makes me understand the topics much better, all her notes are very concise which makes it easy to refer even before the start of o levels. The practice questions are also picked very carefully and are usually from past UCLES and other school papers. She will follow closely based on the O level standards. I started attending Math Academy in lower Secondary under the guidance of Teacher Jolyn. I found it very effective and suited to the Integrated Programme as she was willing to not only omit certain parts of the O level syllabus that I did not learn, but also to teach me parts of the IP math syllabus that I did not understand. I enrolled in Math Academy when I was in sec 3. Miss Ang is very patient with us. If we do not understand a math concept, she will explain it to us  until I understand it. Also, her notes are very easy to understand. The worksheets she gives us also covers everything from basic to advanced questions. For my mid-year examinations in Secondary 3, I failed my Amaths and achieved a border-line pass for my Emaths. It was rather demoralizing for me at that time. I knew it was a serious concern for me as Mathematics has always been an important subject, thus I sought for a math tutor. Originally, I had wanted a 1-to-1 math tutor as I felt that I will be able to learn better if I can learn things at my own pace. However, after attending math academy's group tuition classes, I feel that the class pace isn't too fast for me and it does push me to work harder as well. Even on normal weekdays when Ms Jolyn is not having classes, she will reply my messages about the school math questions which I have trouble solving and guide me through it. Ms Jolyn is a very patient teacher and her classes has been all quite easy to understand. Besides the challenging revision papers and helpful notes she has provided me with, she has also come up with interesting ways to remember formulas easily.

In a short duration of half a year, my Amaths went from a fail to an A1 Grade! I myself was really shocked too with the huge improvement I have made thanks to her. Her lessons had made math concept so much easier to understand and to digest it.  Even thought i was under her care for the whole of sec 3 and 4, but just by having a 2 hours long lesson each week, i did not have to worry about my math much for O'level. Amath & Emath : A1

I am very pleased with my A1 for a-math and I want to thank Math Academy. Jolyn has great patience to coach me during lessons so that I can clear my doubts. Furthermore, Jolyn is willing to help even after lesson hours and her teaching is easy to understand.

Mr Ang's lessons helped me to better understand the H2 math syllabus despite me joining for a small period of time. Mr Ang put in a lot of effort in teaching classes such as providing us additional materials when we needed them and extra help if we require them.

I joined Math Academy only a few months before my ‘O’ levels examinations. My Amaths results were not consistent all along before i join Math Academy and hence I wasn’t very confident in my Amath. However, under the teachings of teacher Jolyn, I was more confident in my Amath. The materials that she provide us with are very detailed and it let me have a deeper understanding about the topic that I was learning. Whenever I have any questions that i did not know how to solve, she would patiently teach me how to solve the question as well as allow me to have some time to think through the steps. Every week she will also give adequate questions to ensure that we have enough practice at home. Miss Jolyn's lessons were engaging and effective. The notes and lessons she provided were concise and helped us grasp the concepts easily! We were exposed to a wide array of questions, not only from the TYS, but from other schools and even UCLES, which were carefully compiled to ensure we knew how to answer various question types. Not only that, she was extremely patient- if we did not understand how to answer a question, she would repeat it over and over again until we understood it. She ensured that none of us lagged behind and would answer our questions at any time, even outside of tuition. She constantly encouraged us, giving us the confidence in Maths. With his help, I have managed to consistently understand concepts, work smart and develop an interest in mathematics. Overall, he is a great teacher that is genuine when it comes to helping his students, even when it gets extremely tough and arduous.

Mr Ang is a dedicated teacher who never fails to go the extra mile for his students, such as arranging his personal schedule to accommodate that of his students as well as ensuring that his students are given that the materials that they require. His approach to the subject can help students to view it from a different perspective, which is essential in understanding the subject better. Also, the small class sizes ensure that equal and sufficient attention is given to each and every student during the lesson.

When I first stepped into Math Academy, I wasn't quite sure if I would really benefit from it. However, my doubts were unfounded as each and every lesson reaped great benefits, be it the extensive types of questions available or the comprehensive topical notes, which cover certain areas where school-based teaching tend to be lacking. In fact, I was soon able to help my friends with their Math tutorials after a few months!

Mr Ian Ang's teaching is easily understood and extremely value-adding. By providing efficient frameworks and explaining how to approach questions on a step-by-step basis, I was able to tackle many complex questions under examination conditions. This was also aided by Mr Ang's reinforcing of essential O-Level formulas, of which I had forgotten most of them. Additionally, no question is too silly, or concept too simple - everything is patiently and thoroughly explained, overcoming a psychological barrier which prevents many students (myself included) from achieving their true potential.

Mr Ang believes that excelling Math is about practice & exposure. He is an effective tutor who conscientiously compiles questions types for his students to tackle math problems. Mr Ang is also strategic in his teaching style and has better equipped us with the proper concepts and this has improved our foundation in Mathematics. As such, I saw drastic improvements for myself. A student who consistently fared poorly in her mathematics subject upon embarking on secondary education, which was evident in the lousy grades she had achieved even during her lower secondary days, I decided to make a stark and significant difference to my grades for mathematics.

It was not long later when I stepped into the doors of Math Academy. As I entered as a sec2, going on to a sec3 student towards the end of 2013, a sense of hope emerged. The teachers in Math Academy were extremely specialised in the mathematics area, and were willing to go beyond the call of duty to provide any sort of aid and assistance to their students. I was an erstwhile student of Ms Ang, whom I deeply respect and admire for her unending patience, interminable guidance, undying passion and superb dedication dedicated to her students. She never fails to keep a lookout for any student, and is deeply committed to ensure that her students do well in their respective examinations by equipping them with the necessary skills.

Being taught by her has cultivated in me a strong interest and desire for Elementary and Additional Mathematics in my upper secondary years, of which was a great fear. Under her unrelenting guidance, my confidence level has consistently increased, and my grades, though may not have shown profound changes, have certainly become a self-esteem booster each time, pushing me further, along with Ms Ang's heartwarming encouragement and motivational words.

Every class in Math Academy is kept to a limited size, so you can be at ease for every student is sure to receive individualized attention. The pace of each class is also moderate, and is often altered to suit the respective class's standards, so students have no fear that they are either unable to catch up with the class, or that they'll not be able to enrich themselves should they be already achieving stellar results.

Weekly work is assigned every lesson, and all worksheets and notes are specially designed in a manner such that they are easy to comprehend. The questions set in the worksheets come to great use when one sits for an examination as they're frequently tested questions, hence students will be more accustomed to the questions being set in their respective schools. Ms Jolyn is an extremely dedicated teacher who is able to deliver her lessons well. Through weekly quizzes at the start of the lessons, Ms Jolyn has helped us to forge our way through the little "secrets" of mathematics questions and the concepts behind different question types. Also, Math Academy exposes us to a broad range of questions which gave me the confidence in tackling various types of questions in my school examinations. I'm extremely thankful for having Ms Jolyn as my tutor as I've gotten overall top for Maths in class this year!

After attending the lessons, I have really improved a lot. I was scoring a B4 when I did not have this tuition, but now I scored an A1 in Maths. The teacher is a really kind and helpful teacher. Although the duration of the lesson is 1hr and 30 mins, she will make sure that we have finished our homework before we can go. While teaching new topics, she has examples of the topic and will explain to us how to do very clearly. Through this tuition, I have learnt that if you want to score well, you will have to work with the teacher. She is really a great teacher.

Thank you to Ms Ang for helping me out so much. I used to fail e maths all the way throughout secondary 1, 2, 3 and I hated the subject. In my crucial year, Sec 4, I was still unclear about the subject. Only about months before my GCE O Levels, I started joining maths tutor Ms Ang's classes. I pulled myself up with the help of Ms Ang who is very patient and understanding towards her students. I finally achieved a distinction for my GCE O Level e maths and I am very grateful towards tutor Ms Ang who has helped me achieved that score.

The lesson is very valuable for us since we are into the additional maths lesson. Not only that, the methods taught made us understand better and it makes it easier for us to solve the questions. For example, the method that we learnt during the lesson on "modulus", is fast and easy to understand. Moreover, the time limit to answer the questions can be shortened. Furthermore, the lessons also challenged our minds and further our knowledge.

Ms Ang is a very patient teacher, even if I asked her the same question for a few times, she would answer my question as if I am asking for the first time. Her teaching method allows me to understand the topic better and she also emphasizes the part whereby we should be exposed to different types of questions so that during exam we will be prepared for a diversity of questions

Remembering the days when i was nearing my GCE "O" levels examinations, additonal mathematics was the nightmare of the 7 subjects i am taking. I tried all sort of revisions and helps from friends/teachers/tutors but my A.maths results remained at a constant grade, F9. Until when my aunt introduced to me a full-time tutor, Ms Ang(Jolyn). Initially i thought it just another waste of time and $$ as i have completely lost FAITH and confidence in solving A.maths. However, little did i realise that Jolyn has made a great turning point in my A.maths results.Just on the first day of the 1 on 1 lesson, the first statement she say was, " If u are co-operative with me, i can guarantee a C6 for ur O lvl Amaths." Then i looked at my handphone, its only..2-3weeks from O lvl A.Math examination. I gave myself a chance and trusted her words. And now i nvr regret every moment spent at her house, revising A.maths. Under her teachings and guidance i studied very hard for the subject and went through every topic of A.maths. She patiently started from scratch and yet can build up my basic foundation quickly. It was indeed rush and urgent as time tickles, but i nvr gave up and pushed myself to the best wad i could. During last few lessons, i realised a change of my attitude towards a.maths; i felt powerful and stronger as days goes by. Then ultimately, on the day when i have to put my abilities to test...equipped with all the necessary knowledge...i managed to get a B4. Maybe B4 is not wad many wanted to get, but personally it was a utmost achievement to me, a great leap of 5 grades in short time..who could have pushed me so far...it no other than Ms Jolyn Ang! Her fees are acceptable and the 2hr time is very flexible. Trust me fellow sec 4 students, it is my fortune to have attended her lessons during my most crucial and darkest days of my sec sch life. No matter how tough it may be, as long as u are willingly to give urself a chance, just a chance, u will realise that ur limits are much further and stronger than wad u think. Ms Ang is a wonderful teacher ! She is patient and committed to her teaching. She has helped me understand Mathematics (a subject which I am very weak in) better. Her clear and concise notes had enabled me to tackle different types of questions. When I don;t understand some questions and I asked her to explain again, she will explain it to me clearly and make sure that I understand it. I remembered getting a big F9 for my additional mathematics for this year common test one. And it is maths, one of the strongest subject I'm in,but I actually gotten a F9 for it! At then, i felt very helpless and hopeless of passing the upcoming class test,let alone the mid-year exam.However somehow through the help of friends,I got to know miss ang. It was miss ang who helped me to build my foundation from the scratch till I'm quite stable in additional mathematics. And so,i managed to pass the following class test.However,even so,I still felt very hopeless about getting an A like what I used to in this year's mid-year examination for this maths.but it was miss ang's active teaching and notes which proved me wrong. It was a godsend opportunity that I managed to enroll myself into the Additional Mathematics tuition class under Ms Ang; who is a wonderful, patient and understanding tutor. Being weak in my Additional Mathematics since the start of Secondary 3, I had risked scoring F9s and E8s for my Additional Mathematics. It was the effort Ms Ang had put in, which saved me from scoring an E8 in my Secondary Four End Of Year Examination and I managed to obtain a satisfactorily grade (B3) for my End Of Year Examination within a short duration of three months. It is considered a great improvement for me as I was able to improve my result by five grades within a few months’ time. Hence, I really appreciate the effort and tactics taught by Ms Ang during this period of time. I used to be long-winded in my answering techniques which cost me a lot of time during examinations and I used to have troubles in finishing my papers on time. Fortunately, Ms Ang comes to my rescue! She was able to point out my mistakes and even helped me to save time by canceling out unnecessary workings. I was introduced to Ms Ang by my sister a few weeks before my S3 MYE . Back then, I had failed quite a number of tests and had somehow predicted that I may fail my upcoming Amath exam too. She is a caring and helpful teacher. 🙂 Whenever i've doubts with my schoolwork, she would help me with them, despite it might already be past the tuition timing. She also teaches me a lot of shortcuts on dealing with the problems which my school did not teach me on. The worksheets that she gives me brings me to a higher challenge to Maths. My school did not provide such luxury though. This gives me a more expanded knowledge and skill in solving them. The environment is also very cosy and it makes me feels like as though i'm having tuition at home !

I admire Ms Ang for her commitment towards her students. Ms Ang stays up late even skipped her meals to help her students. Before I had the honor to have Ms Ang as my math tutor, I had very low self esteem in the way I tackled mathematics questions. It was after I was placed under the guidance of Ms Ang that my self confidence grew significantly. (Especially in my math paper two!)

I was given ample practise and math papers seemed easier to handle each time I attempted them. Every time I went for classes, she unlike other tutors or school teachers would sit down and teach me. She would go through the questions and doubts which I have with a sense of duty. I was a student at Jolyn MATHSHUB(now Math Academy) since I was in sec 2. My maths result for primary school was just average. My maths result continue to under perform when I was in secondary school. Although nothing much change for a period of time after I was taught under Ms Ang, she was still very patient and determined to help me improve my grades. Despite getting most of my questions wrong, she would go through every single wrong question till I understand.She would also correct me if I did not present my answers clearly. This is not something that everyone would be capable of doing for such a long period of time. In class, she would regularly check on my work and correctly me immediately if I made a mistake. However, tides started to change when I was nearing my GCE O Levels. I started to improve drastically and I leaped from a F9 to an unbelievable A2 for my A.Maths in O Levels. Although it was not an A1, the feeling was the same for me. I have to thank Ms Ang for always believing in me and invested so much time and effort to continue to teach me although I may not be performing.

Ms Ang is indeed a superb teacher whom every student that is drowning in a sea of failing Maths tests requires. When I first joined I was really hopeless in Maths. But under her guidance, I felt that I had a glimpse of hope in doing well for my O Level exams. She was very patient in answering my doubts and even though I may not understand the first time, she would explain it until I understand. She is by far the most caring and cheerful teacher I ever had. Sometimes, we might be afraid to ask questions as we are scared that the teacher might scold us, but fret not, because Ms Ang will never scold you. Also, she is like a friend to me, cheering us up or cracking jokes when she sees that we are tired and stress from studying. During the times that we are racking our brains solving questions from practice papers and we come across a challenging, desperately needing help, just pick up your handphone, snap a picture of the question and Whatsapp or sms Ms Ang. In a few minutes time, you can get a solution with explanations! (even late at night) To me, Ms Ang is a really special teacher and the best one I have known so far, and because of her I have a better grasp of Maths concepts and my grades have improved. Miss Ang is really a very patient and fun teacher who has very good rapport with her students. I always enjoy going to classes and have certainly benefited tremendously from her guidance. She makes it easier to understand difficult concepts and is extremely detailed in her teaching. After attending her lessons, my grades have improved greatly and I feel more motivated to excel in additional mathematics. I was failing maths at secondary 3. Through a friend, I knew about ms ang and signed up for the tuition classes. She goes through the overview of the lesson before she starts teaching and explains the steps clearly unlike teachers in schools that teaches us Methods but fails to explain how it came about. That pulled me from my failing grades to a b4. She teaches us the best shortcuts that are "right". "right" as in all of them are acceptable in the GCE Olevel marking scheme. These shortcuts were our major stepping stones out of the b4 to b3 range to the a1 to a2 range.

And I emerged with an A1 for both maths for o levels.

When I first began taking lessons from Miss Ang about 2 years ago, I had failed quite a number of test for Mathematics as I had many misconceptions in Mathematics. However, with Miss Ang's patience and style of teaching, I was able to complete most of the Maths questions she has given to me. She is extremely detailed in her teaching with clear concepts which allows students to understand well. Miss Ang is a very caring teacher who has close rapport with her students. She prepared each tuition lessons with notes and many good practice papers for us to do. She invested her time and energy to improve my Mathematics by marking all the worksheets that I had done. By the next lesson, She would return all the worksheet previously I had done and correct my mistake and presentation right away. Her lessons began to motivate me to practice more and really think about the concepts. She is a very approachable teacher and her encouragement to me makes me determined to do well in my Mathematics. I started receiving tution for A Maths from Ms Ang around March 2011. At that time, my grades for AM was extremely terrible and I didn't quite get all the sums. Ms Ang has helped me to understand the topics more clearly and prepared me for the O Levels. I had much problem with things such as, proving cronguency and similarity, and Ms Ang was the one that enlightened me. She would give practices for the different topics every week and drill us hard for any upcoming exams. She explains everything clearly and make sures every one of us understands the topic and what she is saying. Useful shortcuts were taught as well. Though the tuition is being held at her home, the environment provided has been extremely conducive and comfortable. I was able to focus on my work everytime I went there, and learn much during the lessons. What matters the most is that she actually helped me to obtain a distinction in the O Levels for AM. Without her, I wouldn't had been able to get that distinction.

Ms Ang taught me E and A math for about 2 years. Before she teaches me, my E math results were horrendous and had a lot of misconceptions.Ms Ang was very patient with me and explained those challenging questions to me until i understand.Also,she marks my homework every time and points out all my mistakes,reminding me which topic i need to improve on. There was a period when i always tend to fall asleep during tuition class as i had CCA before that. Ms Ang noticed that i was very tired and changed my lesson to the other day so that i can concentrate more.what a thoughtful teacher!With her detailed teachings, my grades have tremendous improvement. Miss Ang has been a great help to me on the field of Additional Mathematics ever since sec 3, where I failed for all tests in that subject continuously. I could not even do basic algebra manipulation properly, nor think of ‘Out of the box’ ways of solving trigonometric proving questions. However, things changed for the better ever since I went to her AMaths class. She is patient when teaching and correcting me, which is the part I like a lot about her. She explains things in a step-by-step approach, and it is nearly impossible to not understand the concept behind the topic when she is around. She also tracks my AMaths grades closely, and also spurs me on to reach for greater heights in the subject. When I received my O level results in January, I was shocked and delighted when I scored a B3 in A Maths! This was a huge improvement from scoring an E8 consistently in Sec3! Really have to thank Ms Ang for mentoring me, as well as urging us to practice, practice, and practice. I would recommend anyone who is facing difficulties in Maths to engage her service, and I can safely say that that person would not regret it.

Before I went to jolyn hub tuition (now Math Academy), I was really weak in both my maths and I really needed to pull up my grades from a pass. When I started going for her tuition , within a couple of months I learned many good techniques in solving the problems as she always made me see the difficult question in a simpler way. When O-Levels neared I had completely overcome my fears and I achieved my distinction. I am very thankful for Miss joyln’s help and would encourage students who are facing difficulties in their maths to go for her tuition.

I was first introduced to Ms Ang's tuition class when I was in secondary 3. My sister, who was also in her class for A-Maths two years before me, suggested that I seek help from Ms Ang, I was failing my A-Maths and barely passing my E-Maths. I was falling behind the school's syllabus and did not really pay much attention in class. Ms Ang did not give up on me. She assured me that my grades would definitely improve as long as I am willing to put in effort in my studies.

During my secondary 3 mid-year exams, I failed all of my tests and exams for A-Maths. I did not pay much attention to my grades. It was only a few months before my secondary 4 prelim examination that I realised how little time I had before my 'O' Levels. During this period, Ms Ang did not lose faith in me. She encouraged me not to give up and I started put in effort in my studies. My grades improved in the preliminary examination. I realised maths wasn't really as difficult as it seemed to be and thus gained interest in learning.

Two months before my 'O' Levels, Ms Ang patiently taught me from the basic by focusing on ten-year series papers. I attained an A2 for E-Maths and B3 for A-maths in my 'O' Levels. Though my result may not sound impressive, I am contented as without the help and encouragement from Ms Ang, I am pretty sure I would have failed or given up on A-Maths. It's been more than 2 years since I graduated from secondary school, Ms Ang is one of the best teachers I have had. I am really grateful to her. The time, effort and patience she had put in to coach me during my 'O' Levels is beyond words.

I was introduced to Miss Ang’s math tuition when I was in secondary three. I found that the basic practices we obtained in textbooks were insufficient for me to fully grasp the concepts and answering skills required in actual examinations. My mathematics grades fluctuated. During that period while I learnt the basics in mathematics, Miss Ang was the teacher, who provided the best questions to cement my basics. Her concepts were taught well, her self-compiled notes simple and easy to learn from. I love the way she would give us time during lessons to consider and do those ‘concept cementing’ questions. During that time, students are able to personally ask her questions they would not ask in a huge class setting. For myself, it fit my learning style very well. She answered each of my (sometimes silly) questions with utmost patience and care, and despite being in a classroom with other students, she never makes me feel neglected or confused. She was always willing to provide me with extra questions, and to even go the extra mile to take time off her busy schedule to mark my answers, to check my presentation etc. Sometimes, in school, homework was simply ‘gone through’ in class due to our teachers’ schedules, and so I really appreciated Miss Ang’s efforts to help in all aspects of my mathematics. Her lessons in teaching, mathematics, and sincerity have stayed with me all this while as I progress onto Junior College and University. And for that, Miss Ang, thank you so very much!

Towards the end of secondary 2, my mathematics results were not satisfying; knowing that I had to take up additional mathematics the following year, I was worried that I could not catch up with the syllabus and decided to look for a mathematics tutor who would be able to guide me along the way. After trying out a couple of teachers, I finally came across Ms. Ang whom I felt comfortable being around with. A patient and caring teacher, she has the gifted ability to help and guide every student to cater to their learning needs. She delivers her lessons in a comprehensive manner that is easy to understand. Under her constant guidance, I did consistently well for my additional mathematics. She is also a humble person who is always willing to lend a helping hand, and even helped me with my elementary mathematics even though I was not officially enrolled into the class. I’m truly blessed and grateful for having a tutor like Ms. Ang and although it has been 3 years since my graduation as an O’ levels student, I will never fail to remember her kind efforts. Thank you Ms. Ang, for being an important part of my journey through secondary school.

I've been tutored by Ms Ang ever since I was in secondary one as my parents were concerned with my math grades that were just borderline passes. I felt myself beginning to love mathematics as the lessons conducted by Ms Ang were enjoyable and most importantly, helped to clear my doubts. Throughout my secondary school life, Math has always been my strongest subject and I have always managed to get distinctions for majority of my school examinations. For my O levels, I managed to attain distinctions for both additional and elementary mathematics and I'm absolutely sure that I wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of Ms Ang. When I just entered Jolyn’s tuition class in sec 3, I scored an f9 for my a math. After going to her lessons every week, I realised that she is a very patient and helpful teacher. When I do not understand the questions, she will not hesitate to guide me through step by step till I fully understand. She even extended the timings for weaker students like me in order to catch up with the rest of the kids. Jolyn did not give up on me despite my weak foundation but instead build it up. After much preparation and hard work from both of us , I managed to clinch an A2 for my GCE O’levels.

Through this tuition, I've managed to learn a lot more than i did in school. Ms Jolyn has made a-math much easier to digest. She is very clear with her explanations and also a good guider. She makes us find out what we do not understand and solve our queries immediately in the lesson. Her worksheets and notes has been of great use to me too. Her notes are explicit and  straight to the point. Ms Jolyn also guides us according to our pace on math, ensuring that we do not waste any precious time at the tuition center.  She also make sure that we are taught the lessons base on the school curriculum, also at the same time being quick to prepare us for o levels and upcoming tests. Ms Jolyn also makes herself available through messages, so that we can answer our queries as soon as possible , instead of waiting till our weekly tution. Ms Jolyn is a very experienced and caring teacher whose teaching I enjoyed a lot.

I joined the tuition through the recommendation of my friends. I was struggling in school with A Maths as such I needed help with this subject. When my friend recommended me to Ms Ang, I figured that I could give it a try.

She is a great teacher who is very patient with her students. I had trouble with a certain topic and I asked tons of questions to clarify. Instead of getting tired of answering my questions that are easy to her, she took time to explain slowly to me. This is one of the merits of Ms Ang.

Through her detailed explanation and wonderful teaching, I saw improvement in my A Maths grades. As time went by, I got better and better due to her teachings. In the recent O' Level examinations I managed to score an A1 for my A Maths and I have to say, I could not have done it without her.

Math used to be one of my weakest subjects and the subject that i hate most. I struggled with math when i was in Secondary 1, before i got to know Ms Ang and get tutored by her. After a few classes with Ms Ang, my maths started to have great improvements. I also started to really love maths. Ms Ang is able to teach maths in an interesting way, which makes it easier to understand and fun to learn. Whenever i have doubts about the new maths formula or such, Ms Ang will always explain the concepts again to me, patiently until i understand. Ms Ang also teach us many different methods to approach certain questions, which our school may not teach us. This will allow us to choose the method that we are most comfortable in to approach those questions, rather than to be forced to use just one single method. Today, I am the only one among my group of friends who has obtained an A1 for Additional Mathematics and its all thanks to Ms Ang. ^^

When i first took Additional Mathematics in secondary 3, i remembered how i struggled to understand the different concepts in Amath. However, after enrolling into Ms Ang's Additional Mathematics tuition, i learnt the concepts beforehand and was able to understand better in school. Also, the notes provided were clear and precise, and under Ms Ang's teaching, i was able to grasp the subject well. Moreover, even outside class, i can seek help in Amath from Ms Ang through Whatsapp and i really appreciate that. The numerous practice papers provided by Ms Ang also trained me really well in terms of precision in my answers and speed, allowing me to be fully prepared for the O'levels examination. Joining the Math Academy since Secondary Two has really helped me a lot in both my Elementary and Additional Math Subjects. The weekly exercises that Miss Ang had given really gave me much needed practice in the subject. It helped me to build my foundation in the subject and the small class size also helped very much. My doubts were easily cleared if there were any, with clear explanations that helped me with my understanding of the subject; Miss Ang was very helpful in offering her handy tips which I found extremely useful during the O'Levels. I am writing to commend a tutor from your group, Ms. Jolyn Ang who has been both inspiring and dedicated. I started attending Additional Math lessons she conducted when I realized that my Amath grades were plummeting. The day I joined her classes, I returned back home with so much of new knowledge and I was so excited because I felt that the two hour session made me feel more interested in Amath and that gave me the confidence to challenge myself to do well in the subject. Within a short span of 4 months, my Amath grades literally soared from a C6 to an A1.I particularly liked how patient she was with me when I just couldn't seem to understand certain complex concepts. She goes the extra mile by providing us with top school papers and worksheets containing various types of questions from Cambridge so that we are exposed to different styles in which Amath questions are set. It was through this intensive revision she provided that I managed to attain and A2 grade for Amath in the 2013 O level examinations. I hope that many more students would be able to benefit from her and gain more confidence in math. She made me believe that through hard work,I could turn my weakest subject into my forte.

I joined the class when I was in secondary two as my results were unsatisfactory. I used to love math in primary school as it was fun and easy to do well. After barely passing most of my math tests in sec 1 I lost that passion for math and decided to join Ms Ang’s class to try to pull up my grades. I’m not exactly the student in class that is always awake and listening attentively but in Ms Ang’s class it’s different. She’s easy to listen to and very patient in teaching us new topics and her teaching method makes even the hardest things easy to absorb and do. My confidence for math improved and so did my grades. I remember people coming to ask me how I improved so much and I actually got three of my friends to join the class with me. They were shocked at my huge improvement even though I still slept in class. 😛 She understands that each student has different learning and absorbing abilities and always tries to 配合 (fit?!) to their speed of learning and doing. After marking our work, she went through our work one by one to us and the mistakes made and reminds us not make them the next time. Not only so, she allows us to whatsapp her if we had any questions that we are stuck on, whether school homework or own practice, she would always teach us how to solve it. Honestly when I joined the tuition class I was just expecting to pull my grades up, however it is because of Ms Ang that rekindled my love for math.

I joined Ms Ang’s class in the beginning of Secondary Three. Her teaching was very explicit and allowed me to understand the solutions to difficult problems easily. She ensured that each of us were comfortable with the pace of the lesson, yet at the same time, completing before the school goes through a specific topic. This allowed me to pay close attention in class and attain above satisfactory results in my A math O levels. Thank You Ms Ang !!!

Ms Ang started teaching me since Secondary one. She is one of the best math teacher that I ever have. She is a very caring and patient teacher as she always patiently go through our doubts. She will make sure that we understand what we are doing before she move on. She would not hesitate to help us during her own time. When I have any doubts about my school work, I will whatsapp her to ask her, and she will help me to solve the question and making sure that I understand. My A-math wasn't fairly very well in sec 3 and 4 however in my O's level I got B3 Which I'm very statisfied and I have to thanks Ms Ang for that. So I would strongly advice people to join Math Academy.

Math has never been my forte but ever since I started attending Math lessons at Math Academy, I found myself being able to better comprehend the demands of the questions. Through the strategies taught during lessons, I learnt and mastered how to apply concepts onto the paper with the right presentation. In the end of year 4, I scored an A for my math finals and I'm very thankful to Teacher Jolyn for her patience for the past few years!

As I was really bad in Math in primary school, my mother enrolled me to a Math tuition class and Ms Ang was my tutor ever since I was in Secondary One. Since I always did badly for math, I’ve come to hate math. However, under Ms Ang’s guidance, I’ve made tremendous improvement that now Math is my strongest subject and I’m starting to like Math. Whenever I request for more practice for certain topics that I’m weaker in, Ms Ang will always be willingly to print them for me. She will then explain all the questions that I’m unsure of patiently till I get them. She also teaches us a few methods for the sums so that we can choose the one that we are most comfortable with. Ms Ang also mark all our work and return us on time without fail. She will then go through all the mistakes that we made so that we don’t repeat the same mistakes again. She will also walk around the class to check on our work to correct our mistakes on the spot. This helps me to understand my mistakes better. I am also able to whatsapp her questions that I do not know how to solve and she will reply back with the solutions almost immediately. It was really great to have her as my Math tutor for four years. Thank you Ms Ang!

I've actually learnt more in this tuition class than school classes because I was able to clear my doubts immediately instead of waiting after the class to end in school. I get to learnt different ways and methods in solving questions whereby my school teacher have not taught me before. Furthermore I get to have a better understanding of each topics by practicing other school papers whereas some questions are rather tricky than my school textbooks or papers.

Moreover , after I've done papers, Mr Ian Ang will go through all my mistakes and teach me different and easier methods in solving questions which helps me to strengthen my skills. He also teaches me to understand the words equation better by breaking the question down one by one as I've difficulty in understanding the words equation such as money questions. In fact , my results have been improving gradually and I was able to be more confident doing maths papers. To sum it up , I've learnt to be more confident and look at questions in different angles.

I am very proud to say that I was from Jolyn maths hub tuition (now Math Academy). The tuition was very effective as the teaching style suited well to my learning abilities. Before I joined the tuition I felt that my grades wouldn’t jump so high as maths was one of my poor subjects. With the help and the patience of the teacher I am well satisfied with my grades. Mr Ian Ang is a great teacher . The reason is his teaching methods are good and he will make easy for us to understand and remember . He will also answer our doubts , if we have questions from school he will also teaches us . His class is very interesting and fun . My maths result improved a lot after attending the class.

Here you go Miss Ang! Thank You for all your help leading up to the O levels. Maths Academy is an environment where I am able to clarify doubts and strengthen the basis of my mathematical skills. Through their method of ensuring students practise their skills once they learn them , I consolidated my knowledge and showed me what I did not understand. The small class size of six people is a bonus too!

Ms Ang is a dedicated teacher who never fails to answer all my doubts in maths. Her classes are very interesting and I often find myself looking forward to her class every sunday. My grades improved drastically after being coached by her. She makes sure I understand before she carries on and she delivers her lesson extremely clearly. I really enjoy attending Ms Ang’s lessons! Not only are her lessons clear and straight to the point, she makes lessons fun and engaging. She is really patient with us and often makes an effort to ensure that we really understand what she was teaching before moving on. Most importantly, she is very encouraging and this motivates us to do our best in every assignment.

Where do I start? Is it the conducive environment? Or Ms Ang''s excellent teaching methodology? Or the quality of the materials she provides? I can go on and on about the my wonderful experience at Math Academy but I shall try my very best to keep this testimonial as short and concise as I can.

One of the first things you will realise upon stepping inside the tuition centre that there is only a maximum of six students per class. This is so unlike that of a typical tuition centre which have ten to even twenty students in a class! The benefits of these are not to be underestimated indeed. You will experience less distractions. Let''s be frank, in a tuition centre with a larger number of students, it is darn difficult to resist the urge to talk to your friends. Also, the small number of students allows Ms Ang to give her maximum attention to each and every student. No questions will go unanswered, no problems left unsolved. In fact, sometimes I felt that the tuition lessons were more akin to that of a private tuition instead of a group tuition.

Another aspect of the tuition center I enjoyed was the bowl of sweets that was on every table. Too tired to think properly? Simple, eat some sweets, let your sugar level rise and get your brain juices pumping.

The notes that Ms Ang give are fantastic to say the least. It is so simple to understand that you will not need to spend time figuring out the content of the notes (another reason to hate textbooks!). Hence you can spend less time thinking and more time doing something productive. Despite the simplicity of the notes, it is extremely thorough. In fact, sometimes the notes go beyond the scope of what is in the syllabus.

Time for me to talk about the main course; the core of the tuition centre, Ms Ang herself. Ms Ang is an extremely experienced and passionate tutor. The way she articulates even the most complex and intricate of math concepts allows a sotong person to fully and easily grasp these concepts. She can pinpoint your mistakes with pinpoint accuracy and more importantly, the root cause of these mistakes; things that even you are likely unaware of. She teaches you the shortest way to solve any math sum you throw at her. These shortcuts will put you at a huge advantage during your exams. But the thing that strikes me most is Ms Ang''s patience. You can ask her any question any number of times; even if the question is downright simple and seemingly stupid, and she will never lose her cool or get annoyed or frustrated. Take me for instance : There was one lesson where I kept asking her repeatedly one math concept that I failed to comprehend. Unfortunately, by the end of the lesson, I still did not understand it. After the lesson, I gathered up my courage and decided to whatsapp her about that very same math concept, expecting her to snap at me. But to my surprise, she explained it to me again, except in even greater details this time round. How many tutors actually deal with their students with such patience? Speaking about whatsapp, you can whatsapp Ms Ang your math queries and from my experience she will get back to you very promptly. Almost all tutors I''ve come across are different from her. They will only play the role of your tutor during tuition, and for the rest of the time, they play no part in your life. Ms Ang is so different in the sense that she plays the role of your tutor all the time, not just during your tuition lesson. I know after reading all these you must be thinking it''s all fun and games where you can just sit back and relax and let Ms Ang get your distinction for you. Unfortunately I feel both obliged and obligated to break the truth to you, which is that nothing could be further from the truth. There is alot of worksheets to be done; alot of self-practice on your part which you should carry out too. But fret not, Ms Ang is not a sadist who will leave you at the deep end of the pool to drown. She will slowly guide you from the shallow end of the pool to deeper and deeper waters. Before you know it, you will be able to dive to depths of the deepest ocean trenches on your own without any help.

There are so many more things that I could write about, so many more of my experiences that I want to share. But by now, I believe that I've already lost the attention of some. To sum it up, put it in your due share of effort, let Ms Ang work her magic, and hocus pocus, you will get the distinction which you so dreamed of.

From the start I wasn’t really interested to join math academy as I felt it was going to be cliché like the previous tuitions I had attended which did nothing to improve my grade. But I was completely wrong. Teacher Ian was really patient and clear from the start. He always ensure that each student grasp the concept well before moving on. After multiple lessons in math academy I felt that that the hour and half spent in class was more beneficial and useful compared to attending three hours of math class in school where I was constantly confused. Furthermore as the chapters taught were always ahead of my school, I finally felt that I didn’t have to lag behind my classmates. Teacher Ian would also teach easier solving methods and formula in solving particular questions which helped a lot in exams. Homework would also be given each week, marked and mistakes would be explained to help clear any misconceptions. I am really thankful to math academy for helping me to improve my foundation in math and allowing me to achieve a B3 in math from an E8.

Getting a B4 for O level Emath may not be something most people will find worth rejoicing about. However for me, it has been a giant leap.

I came in to Math Academy in Sec 4 with a mid year Emath grade of F9. I have never passed Emath since Sec 2. Even up to O Level prelims, my Emath grade was still a D7.

The teachers at Math Academy are extremely caring, and will take time to prepare additional notes and practice questions, for various topics their students need more help on. 🙂 They will also encourage their students to complete their Ten-year series and guide them on questions they are weak at! This also ensures that they get more practice as well as a better idea of the O level examination format. The teachers also understand how students feel anxious about their examinations, hence allowing their students to come slightly earlier/stay back later for additional consultation. In addition, the teachers give us their handphone numbers so that we can consult them throught the week! Prior to the big exams, the teachers also gave us a lot of encouragements, which really meant a lot to our nervous states of mind!

I am most thankful that the teachers at Math Academy did not turn me away or give up on me, even though I did not seem to have any potential in math. Getting a B4 does not look as nice as a distinction. But to me, it shows how far I have come, and how close I was to not being able to make it to anywhere after O levels. Most importantly, the teachers at Math Academy understand that I have tried my best and outdid myself, thus being able to make it into my dream JC.

Under teacher Jolyn’s guidance, i have managed to improve my A math results significantly. The lessons were enriching and easy to grasp. Whenever i make mistakes in my work, she would go through the problems with me patiently and make sure that i fully understand the concepts. She would also be willing to give me extra lessons whenever i feel that i need extra help. Through her lessons and guidance, i have managed to improve my grades from an E8 to an A1 for O’levels A math. Thank you!

To begin with, I’m not a math person, I don’t have a special aptitude for mathematics. I’ve always flunked my math ever since lower sec, even till my EOYs at Sec 3, I failed A and EMath horrendously, I’m always struggling and am at the bottom of the cohort or class. After joining tuition here at the end of sec 3, I became more confident at the start of sec 4,my AMath improved, I even remember topping the class once at MYE when I was in sec 4.As my AMath improved , my EMath improved as well. I’m glad that under a short span of 1 year, I’ve attained a distinction for both my math, something that I’ve always dreamt of but thought it was a silly dream that was miles away, but it came true, from an F9 to an A2. I’ve become more confidence of my abilities and strike off my perception that “Math is not my thing”. With hard work, with Ms Ang, comes success! (:

Ms Jolyn’s notes are precise so they are always the first material that I will refer to whenever I have troubles with my Amath homework. I still remember the last thing I held before I entered the examination hall was a compilation of her notes because it was so precise, I could catch the main points, the main concepts one last glance in case I forget them. The questions given in the notes are specially selected to tackle different question types so every question helps you to grasp the concept and basic foundation of every topic. Doing these questions time and again for my own revision builds up my confidence as being able to do these questions assures me that I will do just fine during tests. The next best thing is the small class , it’s quiet and it is an extremely conducive study environment ( in my opinion it’s more conducive than studying at home , or the library ) , you can concentrate well while you process and digest the new concepts . Ms Jolyn is very caring and EXTREMELY patient so it makes her very approachable so I will always clarify all my doubts with her regardless whether my questions makes sense or not , so long I have doubts , I always clarify and leave the classroom without any doubts . She’s not the type to scold you when you make silly mistakes instead she will go through with you step by step where you go wrong in your working so fret not and ask whatever is troubling you! She has taken the extra mile to mark the practice papers I have done and went through my mistakes with me , because of that , I often stay back , way past 2 and a half hours but she’ll still help me with my work. To say I’m filled with gratitude is an understatement, I have no words in mind right now to express my gratitude to her.

If I were to choose again, I will still attend tuition classes here. One regret I have would be not being able to attend her lessons earlier at the start of Sec 3 but at the end of Sec 3, still , I’m glad to have been able to attend her lessons . It is gratifying that I have not missed out on this amazing one year of tuition lessons I have with her. She’s more than just a tutor, a teacher, but a mentor and sometimes like a friend whom you can always count on. Thank you so much, Ms Jolyn 😀

Math Academy greatly improved my grades for Additional Mathematics. The teachers there are extremely patient and are more than willing to understand and explain on topics that you might be weak in! Classes are also well-planned and shaped in a way that enhances your learning experience and elevates your understanding of math significantly. The materials provided are also made to be simple to understand, and it made me realise how simple math is when the notes were broken down into smaller sections.
